Introduction
Stario is an Android launcher built for extreme minimalism and utility. It provides a clean, ad-free interface featuring local widgets, Material You integration, and built-in search, completely free of background telemetry and bloat.
Following the retirement of upstream development, Stario is maintained and compiled directly under the Yutila organization.
Operational Philosophy
The system is designed to streamline daily interactions while remaining lightweight and deeply integrated into the open-source ecosystem.
Modern mobile interfaces are frequently compromised by adversarial elements: bloatware, advertisements, algorithmically driven feeds, and invasive background telemetry. Stario systematically eliminates these vectors to restore a predictable, utility-first user experience.
Maintenance & Governance
The project operates under rigid open-source licensing and CI/CD policies. This includes:
- Mandatory binary reproducibility audits.
- Complete dependency transparency (SBOM generation).
- Automated SAST and secret scanning pipelines.
We maintain an absolute commitment to keeping the software independent, uncompromised, and freely available to those who choose control over their hardware.
